A 40-slide ppt based on the Mira 3 textbook (rojo), “El mundo Hispano” (5.1) and “Mi vida diaria” (5.3) topics. It mainly focuses on Mi vida diaria, so you will find a lot more resources for this sub-unit than for el mundo hispano. Some activities have instructions and links at the bottom of the slide, please check them out. It includes a number of extra resources (grammar and reading comp., among others) that I created as the textbook doesn’t offer a lot. Inspired on social media trends, this resource is made up of 5 sheets of paper with 60 everyday life items for students to practise comparisons. The idea is for students to first choose, in each instance, which item they prefer (e.g. sightseeing vs relaxing in the beach), then go through all of them together to have a more detailed chat. Items belong to a range of categories so that the conversations will touch up on food, holidays, seasons, etc. Activity is perfect to use as an ice-breaker or simply for general conversation.

24 different cards which include a character, their name, mood, age, birthday, where they live and number of pets they have. How to carry out this task: students get to walk around the classroom and ask each other the 6 basic questions (como te llamas, como estas, donde vives, etc) according to what they have on their card. Once done, they swap cards and move on to introduce themselves to a different peer. You can get students to do this in the first person or even in the third person if you want to work different verb endings. These cards are easily adaptable to any language and you can edit the information any time. Print in colour and laminate them, they will last you a lifetime. This activity was designed to go with Mira 1 as a recap of the first module once module 3 has been done as well (as that’s when pets are introduced).

A Spanish version based on the PLONK technique (points, linking phrases, opinions, nifty grammar & knockout phrases) to help our students develop and perfect their language in exams. This has proved very useful for my GCSE students, but also for my A-level ones. If you look at the preview, you’ll hopefully get an idea of the sort of phrases you will find in this document. It contains 4 pages, 1 for linking phrases, 1 for opinions, 1 for nifty grammar and 1 for knockout phrases.

Vocab to practise module 5 in stimmt 1 textbook: in der stadt in a fun way. This card game includes 18 items of vocabulary and consists of 36 cards that include a place in town image and its name below. But careful! Some are labelled wrong - Students must grab one card and name the place they see before putting it down on a pile in the centre. If the place is labelled wrong and they read it without correcting it, they will have to get all cards from the pile. The winner is the person who runs out of cards. Perfect to review places in town vocabulary and key sounds pronunciation in class.

A powerpoint I created to help my year 8 and year 9 groups practise verb tenses before the summer exams. Year 8 (second year): present, preterite and near future year 9 (third year): present, preterite, near and simple future. this resource does not include verb endings, but tables for students to fill in and practise verb conjugations in their 6 forms (there are some common irregulars). Answers included for them to work independently and check their own answers. Ppt includes a thinking quilts activity where students will be identifying these tenses in use, as well as typical time markers to go with each tense.

Ppt contains plenty of vocabulary to give opinions and talk about free time activities in the present tense at length. It introduces the present tense of -ar verbs and frequency expressions to take their language up a notch. It includes tasks to practise all skills plus small vocab and grammar tests. This is a continuation / build up from Module 2.1, which you will also find on my shop. It comes with two extra lists of vocabulary for students to revise, and two versions of vocabulary tests to be done at the end of every-subsection, and overall a good range of activities that train the 4 skills, and grammar. I have also attached the list of vocabulary provided by the textbook for the Unit 1 Everyday life at home and school, corresponding to sections 1A to 1D, ALREADY FILLED IN WITH THE TRANSLATIONS for students to use as revision if you dont want to spend time from the lesson/homework to get them to write them down. A 60-slide ppt which covers the relevant language to teach Module 3.4 Durante el recreo from the Viva 1 textbook, and then extends on that by adding the unit from Mira 1 textbook, module 2.2: Que haces en clase? By the end of the topic, students not only will be able to talk about what they do at break, but also they will be able to talk about what they do in lessons. A nice thing to do if you have curriculum time for it. Ppt starts introducing a range of phrases to talk about what you do at break, a reading activity, listening from the book, speaking and finally a closing writing paragraph. Then, vocab is introduced for things you do in class, many of them recycled from Module 2 (Viva 1). It contains a range of activities to practise all skills, vocab tests and homework ideas. There are some present tense (regular) verbs activities as well to provide some extra practice. This resource covers unit 5.3 from the Stimmt 1 textbook ‘Mmm, lecker’, dealing with snacks (using ich mochte/ich hatte gern): an introduction to food and drink and shopping for snacks. 13 slides with vocabulary and exercises following closely pages 102 and 103 from the textbook and including variations to it. NOTE: look at the bottom of the slides (not in presentation mode) as sometimes there are instructions on what to do in each activity.
